The Dynamic Dozen (A-Dozen A-mazing Photographs)

Students need practice taking good photographs and this assignment is designed to give them a chance to show how amazing they can be by taking really good photos.

Students are required to take 36 photos (12 of which will be handed in) that utilize photographic techniques and ideas such as:
  • Leading Lines
  • Rule of Thirds
  • Depth of Field - And this
  • Sharp focus
  • Soft focus
  • Symmetrical Balance
  • Asymmetrical Balance
  • Candle Lit Photo
  • Dynamic Horizon Lines (tilted)
  • Minimalist Landscapes
  • Low Angle Light source
  • Low Angle Shot
  • High Angle Shot
  • Colored Lighting
  • Night Shot with Flash
  • Still Life Setup




  • Put all photos into a folder labeled with your name. No resizing, cropping or other photoshop work should be done.

    Evaluation:
    10 points based on the clarity, focus and overall quality of the group of photos.
