Plates/Dinnerware

The teacher demonstrates how to make plates on the potter's wheel in class and a brief discussion is had about practical plate shapes. Plates are made using a bat so that they aren't distorted by taking them off the wheel.

Students don't need to make plates on the wheel, however and a brief discussion (Demonstration depending on time) takes place on how to make plates with slabs of clay.

Students are required to make at least two plates with some sort of original or creative marks or sculpted additions for this project. (They don't need to be the same size or shape.)
