Pinch Pot Pumpkins

The teacher demonstrates how easily a pumpkin can be made out of solid clay and hollowed out. Then a pinch pot pumpkin is demonstrated.

Students are to make a set of 3 pumpkins, one using the solid technique and two that utilize the pinch technique.

Because fired clay is permanent and found in archaeology digs thousands of years old, we do not require firing. However, extra credit is given if the students fire and paint their projects.
