Wheel Thrown mug

Students are shown the entire process of making a mug on the potter's wheel. A couple of shapes are made to illustrate the vast variety of useful mug shapes that are possible. The instructor has leather hard mug shapes and handles ready to demonstrate trimming and attaching handles.

Finished mugs are shown in class. Their practicality or lack thereof is discussed.

Students are required to make a practical mug shape, trim a foot on the bottom and attach a handle.
