Sculpted or Carved Object

The teacher demonstrates how he sculpts a portrait. (Click here for a video) (And click here to see how the sculpture in the video link above looks when it's nearly finished.) Hollowing out a carved object is also demonstrated in class.

Students are encouraged to bring in a 3-d object that they want to try to duplicate in clay. Having a model in front of them will make it a million times easier to sculpt that object.




Evaluation:
3 points -- 3-D, interesting from all angles
3 points -- Quality and details included (wrinkles, folds, etc.)
2 points -- Base integrated nicely
2 points -- Hollowed out properly (Show Teacher)
