Drapery

This assignment challenges students with an object that is organic in nature. The drapery folds are very random and include sharp as well as soft shadows. Students often are overwhelmed when they see the drapery hanging in the center of the room, but after a short demonstration by the teacher they understand how easy it really is. The drapery is really made up of many different triangles of folded material and if the students start by lightly indicating the simple triangles, they will easily construct an accurate drawing.
