Clay on a Tray

The teacher demonstrates how easy it is to model food with clay. Students are asked to come up with a grouping of food items that relate to each other in some way. Maybe they're all vegetables. Maybe it's a fast food meal. Maybe it's deserts. Etc.

Students are given a handout to sketch their ideas on.

After the teacher approves the sketch, they are allowed to work with clay.

Evaluation:
2 points -- Sketches detailed enough and approved.
2 points -- Textures are modeled correctly/nicely.
2 points -- 3 pieces that relate to each other.
2 points -- Realistic in appearance
2 points -- Painted nicely

10 points total.
