Ron Jones – Manufacturer of Bakery Products

Ron Jones has been with Dawn Food Products for over 50 years. The company has been owned and built into a global leader of the baking industry by three generations of the Jones family. Throughout the late1960s to the mid-1990s Dawn was shaped by the uniquely different talents of three Jones brothers, Ron, Miles and Steve. Ron, the eldest son joined the company professionally in 1957 with his brother following suit several years later. Ron’s work has been in the manufacturing side of the bakery industry. He has served as executive vice president, president, chief executive officer, chairman of the board and presently co-chairs the board of directors, with his brother, Miles

Ron’s talent is in finding and building new business opportunities. Under Ron’s leadership, Dawn grew from a company with one mix plant and $27 million in sales in 1982, to multiple manufacturing sites and distribution centers worldwide. With the focus of building teams that make a difference. During his tenure as CEO and Chairman of the Board, Ron developed strategies to help Dawn move toward its goal of becoming the dominant, and most reliable supplier to the baking industry.

Ron believes that his family’s main responsibility is to build upon the philosophy of: People, Products and Customers. Ron has made the Circle of Excellence symbol: good people with outstanding work ethics, making excellent products and taking care of our customers, so visible that it is well recognized throughout the industry as a Dawn logo.

Ron is a model of MBWA (Management by Walking Around). It is hard to find a chairman of a major company as approachable as Ron. Just a few of the many day-to-day activities he practices: knowing as many people as possible working in the company, making it a point to greet people daily and continuously demonstrating his passion for the bakery industry. He believes in empowering people and building loyalty.

Ron will present the General Session Sunday morning, “Fresh Approach to Business Practices.” Plan to attend to here Ron’s vision for the future of the baking industry.
