    • Because it's difficult to demonstrate an intricate process in front of many students, a silent video tutorial lesson is shown on the big screen while the teacher narrates, pausing and fast forwarding as appropriate.

    Each student gets a small lump of clay, breaks a piece off and makes a small pinch pot base to which they add coils, building the pot higher and higher.

    If time permits a video about Maria Martinez and her black pottery is shown during class.

    After firing students will get to experience applying glaze and seeing how glaze works on pottery. Glazing vid here.
