Dancing Skeletons

Students are walked through how to make a skeleton starting with the skull. A small piece of paper is given to each student and they are shown how to draw a skull with pencils. While students draw their skulls, the teacher hands out black paper. When the y are done drawing they can place their skull paper on the black paper "placemat" and outline the skull with sharpie marker. Next students are told to glue 3 horizontal Qtips down putting one big dot of glue on each Qtip end. These will be the ribs. A vertical Qtip goes over these three with glue at ever intersection.

Hips are next and we emphasize the fact that when you run or dance, your hips tilt and swivel. So we glue the next one on at an angle. Legs next and they can be made by cutting the Qtip in half and making a bump at each joint.

IF we don't get done with them, we work on them again next time but a quick demonstration about how to make a pumpkin is done so the Skeletons have a friend.
