Students are shown how to visualize a shadow puppet. There can be no details inside the puppet. Or if there are, they must be cut out in order for them to be seen. The teacher demonstrates drawing and cutting out a shadow puppet character. We focused on Monsters one year because they can look like anything.

After the puppets are cut out and glued to a stick, students can go up to the overhead projector and play with their puppets. At one point We had two overheads running simultaneously projecting on the screen.
