Every Year Macy's department stores make elaborate holiday displays in their windows. These displays contain sculptures and paintings made specially for the store by skilled artists and craftspeople.

This lesson is a quick fun little look at holiday decorations in an attempt to make the children realize how much there is to see around them if only they take note. It also stimulates their creativity and imagination by allowing them to imagine how they'd decorate the window if they were in charge

Images of various Macy's window displays are shown briefly and questions asked about what the children see in each window. A small drawing lesson on how to draw holiday items may follow before each student receives the "Window" handout.

If time permits a sharing session can be done where students tell the class about their window.
