Helping Hands

"With Heart and Helping Hands a Child Can Accomplish Anything."

This project allows First-graders to play with watercolor again in a non-threatening and experimental way similar to the first watercolor project.

Color Theory is discussed through slides and a small activity.

A survey of historical use of hands in artwork is also viewed and discussed. Students are to fill the paper with mixed colors that represent their mood and/or favorites. Then when the paints are dry we trace their hands on the painting. Cutting lessons are demonstrated and practiced before cutting out their traced hand painting. When finished the hands will be mounted together on a large bulletin board for the school to see.
