Pattern Circles

This lesson is done periodically in all grades at Atwater Elementary

Pattern and repetition is discussed in class and we talk about the shapes made when circles intersect.

Students are to trace around little cups to make intersecting circles. Then they should fill each shape they made with patterns and repeating shapes. This may be done with markers or pencils. Monochromatic designs are discussed when we use pencils. Primary, secondary, complimentary, tertiary color schemes are discussed when we use colored markers.
