Glitter Tree (Christmas)

Students are shown various holiday decorations from around the world that correspond with various cultural holidays. Holidays such as Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa are discussed and images shown of the celebrations and/or symbols for the holidays.

(3rd grade cut out the triangles for this project. Fold a paper and cut from corner to corner.)

Students take a large triangle and put a dot of glue on the bottom center. They attache a brown rectangle to that dot and hold it for 10.

Next, students put a dot of glue on each corner of that tree (5 dots) and pace it on the background paper.

The medium triangle is done next, being sure to over lap the large triangle top, attaching it with 3 dots of glue, one on each corner.

The small triangle is put on with 3 dots of glue, again overlapping the medium triangle.

Students are then called up by table and the teacher put a swoosh of glue on their tree and adds glitter to it. Students wait patiently and quietly while everyone gets glitter.

When the trees are dry sequins are added as ornaments
