Gesture Drawing

As an introduction, the word Gesture is explained by the teacher acting out a wide gesture.

Students are shown images of gesture drawings done for animation as well as some rough animation examples.

Next students practice scribbling. Different types of scribbles are practiced. (zig zag, circles, random shapes) Then the teacher uses Gestrue drawings to draw students who poses in front of the class so students can see how the scribbles or Gestures relate to the actual person.

New paper is handed out and students get to try their hand at gesture drawing as the teacher poses in front of the class.
