Dark Drawing

Paper with a fold in it is handed out. Students are to sharpen the fold and then fold it in half again the other way to form a "book". Put their name at the bottom of the cover of the book just like real illustrators do.

Next the teacher draws a simple object like a pumpkin while students follow along, drawing on their paper as accurately as they can.

Then we shut off the lights and students try to draw the same object with their eyes shut and the room dark. (When it's dark it's time to close your eyes)

Students think their Dark Drawings are hilarious.
