Little Blue and Little Yellow

Leo Lionni's book "Little Blue and Little yellow" is read in class and a cute stop-motion video related to the book is shown.

This lesson allows students to learn how colors mix. It may be used with play dough, or paint.

Students are given two colors of paint or play dough at each table. They are to take a little of one color and paint a spot on paper. then they take another color and mix the two colors on their paper. If it's play dough, they can simply knead the two colors together at their spot.

Next, they move to another table where other colors are waiting for them.

Repeat for each table.

If we're using play dough, after they have mixed their colors they can make something out of the 3-5 different colors they have.
